Lots of Rain, Lots of Fun

Lots of Rain, Lots of Fun

Much fun and heavy rains sum up the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, held last Sunday. Editor Rutger Booy was fortunate to have been offered a ride with the Italian team entered by Domenico Paterlini They had two cars, an Aster and a Georges Richard. Together with driver Gemmi Tommaso, Rutger started in the second group at 06.58 hours just after sunrise. Out of Hyde Park and over Westminster Bridge went well, but going through Lambeth, the Georges Richard developed some trouble. During the road-side repair, which took over an hour, the heavens opened and when taking off again going got tough for the little Georges Richard. The Aster went well, but ran out of petrol and refused to start again after filling up. Having lost much time the Coffee Stop at Crawley had to skipped. Luckily the rain stopped and the weather became nice again, making it a pleasant drive through the country, although several times it was get out and push. About 16.00 hrs the Aster reached Brighton, proudly waving the Italian flag and very pleased to have made it to the finish.
(special thanks to the Brescia Veteran Team, Fabrizio Tatiana and www.MWVCC.it !)
