Alice's Drive Message Documentary Update |
It's been a long while since the completion of the drive and, for most of us...mentally shifting gears back into our normal lives, back to work and back to families took a little getting used to. The drive was a roaring success and we thank every single person who came out to support us whether you drove along, hosted us for a pancake breakfast, found our group a place to stay for a night or two, got us front row access to Niagara Falls or even simply honked and waved as YOU passed US! It was a terrific experience, long, challenging, hot, cold, smile, tears...you name it.

If you haven't read the blog of the journey or seen the pictures on the Alice Ramsey flickr.com page, give yourself a treat take an hour some rainy Sunday morning and re-live the wild ride that Alice's Drive (and now Emily and Christie's drive too!) really was.
First of all, as a sincere thank you to everyone we, Ted Griffis (producer/editor) and I (director/producer), wanted to deliver a small taste of what's to come and have posted a NEW SEGMENT of the film on www.aliceramsey.org for all to watch. It's a small taste of the early stages of the Maxwell restoration where Rich Anderson and his crack team of car gurus (Jay Larson, Larry Sitauer and Tim Simonsma) actually crank start the Maxwell engine to life for the first time in possibly 60-80 years. This was an epic day to say the least.
Next up, for those of you who have pre-ordered the film, thank you very much. We tried to be as clear as possible about the amount of time it takes to edit a feature documentary and apparently we weren't as clear as we could've been as we have gotten numerous phone calls and emails from folks wondering where their copy is. Understandably so! Let's put it this way with more than 200 HOURS of footage to sift through, it's take awhile. We will do our best to send out periodic updates on the progress of the film. We haven't forgotten about you, we promise. Our targeted completion date is sometime during Summer 2010. So please bear with us and trust that we're putting together an exciting and professional grade experience for everyone who watches.
I know, I know...that's a long time away, you say. Presently, we are seeking post-production finishing funds through grants and various funding outlets. If anyone on this list should have any ideas of people or groups interested investing in the post-production process (this would greatly expedite the process as well) please direct them to Bengt Anderson - Bengt@livefeedfilms.com Right now, we are working on 10-15 minutes of footage that we will submit for grants etc. and will happily discuss options with interested parties.
