--- Response to the advert was far more than anticipated ! ( November 2, 2008 )
Martin Shelley sold his unrestored 1912 Clément Bayard: "The response to the advert was fantastic and far more than anticipated. The car is being bought by an enthusiast from Northern Ireland, but I had emails expressing interest from England, France, the Netherlands (2), Italy (also 2) and Sweden! I decided reluctantly to sell the car only because I need to raise funds to pay for the restoration of my Thornycroft car, as I am an enthusiast not a dealer and seldom sell vehicles as a result. The auction might have raised a higher price but i would have had considerable seller's costs to cover so prewarcar was a better solution for me. In addition, I have had a lengthy dialogue with the buyer so I am confident he is exactly the sort of fellow enthusiast I would have wanted to take the car on, which is a very rare and untouched survivor of Edwardian motoring, which is my favourite period."

--- 1951 Nash Convertible was needed to celebrate Malaysia's 50th year of Independance.
Megan Boyd of MotorcarPortolio (Canton, Ohio) reports:"In early June we were contacted by a party in Malaysia who was interested in purchasing our 1951 Nash Rambler Custom. He had found the car through your website while frantically searching the web. He said that he was desperately trying to find a ’51 Nash to help celebrate Malaysia’s upcoming 50th anniversary. Fifty years ago when their leader had announced their independence he was riding in a black 1951 Nash convertible. He told me they wanted to recreate this parade in conjunction with their 50th celebration on August 17th, 2007.Since they needed the car very quickly to prep (paint black) for the celebration he asked that we have the car shipped by air rather than boat. After calling quite a few shippers I was finally able to locate a firm willing to take on the task, EMO Trans of Detroit, Michigan, USA. With their help we were able to clear customs and send the car to Malaysia just in time for their anniversary celebrations. I guess by the time it cleared customs and was sent they only had 4 days to paint it...!
We thought you would enjoy hearing about the power of your website in our global market."

Your platform seems to cover a large part of the world, which is proofing very helpful when selling a rare car with small market potential. Once again many thanks, we will certainly use your facilities again." Werner Oswald

from somebody who sold an M-type a year ago, giving encouragement! Of the remaining, one was from Switzerland, one
local-ish, one from north of Aberdeen (so about 8 hours' drive away) and. Only the man from
Aberdeen arranged a viewing: he left Aberdeen at midnight, arrived here
at 8am, bought the car at around 9:30am, left at around 10am and is now
back in Scotland! He had, apparently,
travelled down even further south to look at another M-type last
weekend, but returned without buying it. Thanks again!

--- The 1937 Morgan didn't sell here, BUT...
I listed our Morgan Three wheeler 1937 on the www.MorganForum.com in July. This web site is where we actually sold the car. Then found your web site Prewar. We had this buyer interested before your web site, but we needed to investigate his honesty. Then we got to looking for a site that might get the attention of more people in the US. That was your web site. I must say the car could have gone anywhere at this point.
But the buyer from Denmark checked out just fine. And the car is on its way to its new home.
We will consider using your web site again. As we have a few prewar motorcycles that will be for sale next year.I am still getting inquires from your web site everyday. Maybe 2 a day. So you are doing your web site just fine. People can move around your site easily. And that is very important
Looking forward to using your site again.
Sincerely,
Judith Vassie.
